Terms of Use
What you agree to when you use STARKOS, written to describe what the product actually does. As at 17 August 2026.
1. Who you are dealing with
STARKOS is operated by:
Timo Hölscher
Leopoldstraße 33
82140 Olching
Germany
Email: founder.starkos.io@gmail.com
Telephone: +49 170 2697692
A small business (Kleingewerbe), a small-business taxpayer under § 19 UStG, with no commercial-register entry. The full statutory provider details are in the Impressum.
2. What STARKOS is
STARKOS is a training and nutrition planner. You answer a questionnaire about your body, your equipment and your week; STARKOS builds a training plan from those answers, adjusts it as you log your work, and keeps a history of what you lifted. It also offers a photo-based body-fat estimate.
Parts of the plan are generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude API). That is stated here rather than buried: a generated plan is a suggestion produced by software, it is not reviewed by a human before you see it, and it can be wrong. Use your own judgement, and see section 4.
Not medical advice. Nothing STARKOS produces is medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian. The body-fat figure is an estimate with a stated range, not a measurement. If you have pain, an injury, a pre-existing condition, or you take medication, speak to a medical professional before you train and before you change what you eat.
3. You must be 18 or older
STARKOS is for adults. You confirm you are 18 or older on the consent screen before the questionnaire, and you may not use the product if you are not. It is built for adult training loads and it discusses body composition and supplements, and neither belongs in front of a minor without a responsible adult.
4. Training is at your own risk, and that is a real limit
Resistance training carries risk of injury. You decide what you lift and how you lift it. STARKOS does not watch your technique, cannot see your form, does not know how you slept, and knows only what you typed into it.
- Warm up. Start lighter than the plan suggests if anything feels wrong.
- Stop if something hurts. A plan is not an instruction.
- If you gave us an injury or a condition, the plan takes it into account as best it can. It is not a clinical assessment.
- If the numbers in a plan look wrong for you, they are wrong for you. Change them.
5. Your account and your access code
You sign in with an email address and an access code you choose. Keep the code to yourself: anybody with it can read your body data and your training history. The code is stored only as a hash by Firebase Authentication. Nobody at STARKOS can read it, and nobody at STARKOS can tell you what it was. If you lose it, you reset it by email.
One account per person. Do not share an account, and do not create an account for somebody else.
6. What it costs today
The workout logger is free, for everybody, permanently. Logging your sets, seeing your history and reading your progress costs nothing and uses no AI. That does not change.
The first 50 founding members get everything else free too (the generated plan, the body-fat scan and each feature as it lands) in exchange for weekly feedback. That is the whole deal: your feedback for our features while the product is being built.
Beyond the founding cohort, the AI features will eventually be paid. No price is set and none is published. Nothing is charged today, no payment details are collected today, and nothing can start costing money without you being told in advance and agreeing to it.
7. Your health data, and the consent behind it
Your date of birth, weight, body-fat figure and any injuries or conditions you enter are health data under Article 9 GDPR. STARKOS processes them only on your explicit consent, which you give on a separate screen before the questionnaire: three individual confirmations, none of them pre-ticked.
You can withdraw that consent at any time in your account settings, in one tap and one confirmation. Withdrawing stops plan generation and the body-fat scan; it does not delete anything, and the logger keeps working. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy and, in German, in the Datenschutzerklärung.
8. What you may not do
- Do not use STARKOS to give anybody else medical, dietary or training advice as though it were professional advice.
- Do not try to break, overload, scrape or reverse the service, or work around its rate limits and abuse protections.
- Do not attempt to reach another person's account or data.
- Do not use the AI features to generate content unrelated to your own training and nutrition.
- Do not upload photographs of anybody but yourself to the body-fat scan.
9. Availability
STARKOS is early software under active development. There is no uptime guarantee, features change, and features can be removed. Where a change affects your data or something you rely on, you will be told.
Backups exist for operational purposes, and they are not a service you are buying: keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose. You can download everything stored about you at any time from your account settings.
10. Ending it
You can leave whenever you like. Deleting your account in your account settings removes the account and the data attached to it, immediately, with one confirmation. No notice period, no phone call, no retention offer.
Where a paid contract exists, you can also declare a termination in writing through the permanent cancellation form: Verträge hier kündigen. If you have a statutory right of withdrawal, you can exercise it at Vertrag widerrufen. Both are reachable from the bottom of every page. Neither is behind a login.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 8, or where we are required to. Where it is not urgent, you get notice and a reason.
11. Liability
Liability is unlimited for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence, liability is limited to breaches of duties whose fulfilment is essential to using the service (Kardinalpflichten), and in that case to the damage typically foreseeable for a service of this kind. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.
Beyond that: STARKOS is not liable for injury or loss arising from how you choose to train, or from a training or nutrition decision you take on the basis of a generated suggestion. That is the point of sections 2 and 4, and it is the honest position of a product that cannot see you lift.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms can change as the product does. A material change is announced to you by email or in the product before it takes effect. If a change requires new consent, you will be asked for it on a fresh consent screen. An existing consent is never quietly re-used for new wording, and the version of the text you agreed to is recorded against your account.
13. Law and jurisdiction
German law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another EU or EEA state, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the state you live in (Article 6 Rome I Regulation).
I am neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
14. Reaching a human
